Design The Sky-Watcher Classic Dobsonian Telescope has a 203mm mirror diameter with a focal length of 1200mm (8″) and a F-ratio of f/5.9. This model includes the new feature-tension control handle which allows the user to change the settings and move the mount with minimal pulsation. Even when released, the telescope will sustain its position and keep its view of the skies. Construction A simple, elegant form of an alt-azimuth mount made to carry a Newtonian reflector was popularized by John Dobson in the late 1970’s. The Dobsonian mounted telescope has been a favorite among amateur astronomers and telescope makers because of its simplicity and ease of use ever since. The Sky-Watcher Classic Dobsonian has a parabolic primary mirror to eliminate spherical aberration and a four-arm, secondary mirror bracket with fine supports (0.5mm thick), to reduce diffraction spikes and light loss. In addition, this model includes a 2 inch single-speed Crayford-style focuser with a 1.25 inch adapter, allowing the use of either eyepiece size.
