This is an incalculable number because we can’t see how big space is and how far it extends beyond the range of our strongest telescope or even the satellites that have travelled to the edge of our own universe. That alone is of an enormous distance, some 4.4 billion km. For many that is an unimaginable number and the overall number of planets around each of the stars is equally unfathomable.
My interest in this has to do with my reincarnation and knowledge that the Spirit of the Universe is the real God. It obviously controls all of space and however big that is gives an indication of its size, which is infinite or omnipotent and omnificent.
It means that humans cannot estimate anything that is beyond what we can perceive and reincarnation is something that many cannot get their heads around.
The big question is what is life and how do the planets fit into it? They taunt our imagination and cost an unimaginable number of man-hours in calculations and now space travel in an attempt to test them for life-sustaining elements.
As a spiritual person with a link to the Spirit of Creation can we expect that at some time after the earth is finished supporting life that we will live in some far away galaxy. Is this what life is about? Is this what space is relevant to our existence? Is this a side of humanity that goes beyond earth and represents the future for those who, like me, are connected in some way to it in a different form?
While we look to see what nearby planets might be suitable for human habitation perhaps there is a higher purpose that, like the size of space, is unimaginable and beyond human comprehension.
