This auction is for a 1996 Celestron (USA) C90 Rubberized optical tube assembly with both original dust covers. It will come with the Special Coatings, which are a multicoated optics upgrade. It will not be coming with eyepieces, a finder or a diagonal. This is my favorite, all-time version of the C90 ever made. These are USA-made, 3.5-inch f/11 maksutovs that are highly apt for urban and suburban stargazing as well as perfect for birding, camping, and apartment living where space is limited. Excellent resolution capability and easy to carry out onto your deck in mere seconds. It will fit to any photo tripod pan head that accepts #1/4-20 threads on the adapter plate. OR you can have some fun and mount this to your C8 or C9.25’s piggyback adapter mount and have a killer guide scope or secondary scope. It is a reflector-style optical system, so you do not have to worry about dealing with false color in your images. Highly resistant to shock, jarring, heavy dew, and light rain. The rubber shell means easy to grip with thick gloves on in the winter time as well and no worrying about easily scratching and chipping a glossy, painted tube.Like all USA-made C90s, this unit uses .965-inch accessories. However, Celestron made (2) different .965-inch to 1.25-inch capable adapters for these scopes, and at that, you can also use hybrid 45 and 90 degree diagonals, which fit into .965-inch focusers, but then let you use 1.25-inch eyepieces and barlows.
