This telescope has served me well for several years. The only reason I’m selling it is that I’ve purchased a newer one and I don’t need two ‘scopes. This is a great scope for viewing as well as instruction because it has right ascension and declination scales for finding objects. I’ve successfully used those scales many times rather than “star hopping”. The optical tube is in excellent shape with no scratches or dents anywhere. It has a bar mount for a piggy-backed camera. Included is a 1/4 – 20 knob for use with your camera. (The knob isn’t pictured here.) The tripod has telescoping legs so it’s easy to level on an uneven surface so that locating and tracking objects is more precise. I added additional clamps to the three legs for extra stability and security. (See the last photo.) Four eye pieces are included: 36 mm Celestron Plossl multi-coated Tuthill 15 mm Plossl Celestron 25 mm Kellner fully coated Orion 5 mm multi-coated Also: Celestron Visual Back and Celestron star diagonal 6 X 30 Celestron finder scope Off-axis guider The mounting has a built-in Tuthill battery-powered right ascension tracking drive. It uses two rechargeable batteries (2 volt, 2.5AH D cell, Gates Cyclon). The two that are currently installed need to be replaced. I’ll include two additional ones (pictured) which have never been used. I don’t know if they are still good because I’ve had them for awhile. So those extra batteries are supplied as-is. A 12-volt DC charger is included (not pictured). In the past, I’ve used the charger to run the motor when the batteries are weak and need to be replaced. Using the charger as the main source of power works, and it can let you delay replacing the batteries. But I don’t know whether that’s a good long-term technique. And I don’t know if this works with no batteries installed. So I am only presenting it as a temporary setup, not permanent. It’s your decision whether you use the charger like this. Local pickup in the Sacramento area.
